Amy Peedle: “Aliyah got something stuck in her esophagus 10 days ago and has not been able to eat anything by mouth, she was able to drink some for a few days but then she started throwing that up last week and on Friday she started having problems with being able to swallow her saliva. I called her surgeon and they ordered an esophagram for 3:00 pm today if that shows her esophagus is strictured (closed off) then they will take her to surgery in the next day or so to open it up. She was in tears last night and saying she gives up and hates how her body doesn’t work. It is easy to see this child’s beauty on the outside but having a life long illness and times when you have to stop everything and run to the hospital, takes a toll on her. She is strong and brave but everyone has a breaking point and she is there right now. Please say a extra prayer for her, she really needs them. Right now, I am beyond grateful for her feeding tube because we can keep her hydrated and that means keep her home instead of being in the hospital. She says her mouth is so dry, she has a cup of water and will rinse her mouth and then spit it out just to keep it moist. Hoping and praying for answers and help for her.”
Update: “It is closed so she will be having surgery in the next couple days.”
Update: “We just got rear-ended 3 minutes from the hospital. So, Aliyah was brought back to the hospital in the ambulance. Now we are waiting to see if they will be admitting her.”
Although we new Aliyah wasn’t feeling well on Saturday, she looked absolutely beautiful on at the Rare Teen Photo Shoot. She is in our thoughts and our prayers.
