Harlie Valdez received the following text last night from a teenage boy.

“I hope you don’t get better. I hope you get sicker. It was better when you were in the hospital. I didn’t have to deal with your attitude more. I’m happy you’re sick. I hope to God that you don’t come back to school. I wish you get sicker and stay home schooled. And you’re fake. You lost your hair and now wearing wigs?  Pathetic! This disease almost killed you. Then I wouldn’t of had to deal with your attitude. Which i wish you get and it makes it hard for you to live life.”

Stephanie Valdez, Harlie’s mom, said, “I think this needs to be acknowledged. These kids fight their disease and will have to their entire life. They already have enough to deal with without a mean person putting them down. They didn’t ask for this life! They didn’t ask to lose their hair. They are doing the best to stay positive and to fight their disease!”

We would love comments on this issue.
