Gabe shared: I would like to thank Altius Insurance  & Primary Children’s Hospital for making it possible for my baby to take a break from reality and enjoy a  few hours at the University of Utah softball game last week. It didn’t heal her, but it did bring a smile to her face. Priceless!

Bella, a friend and mentor, told Gabe, “I think this girl is beautiful and strong. She may not realize it but I see the spirit in her. I love her family and I love her already. She may not see the light on the other side of the tunnel but it’s coming…I know it is. She just has to keep moving forward and once she sees the light start running towards it. Right now is a dark time for her and if I can help her find that light out of this horrible time. I’ll do it.”

Gabe wrote this morning: “Every night is very difficult for Harlie. Our morning started at 1:30a with Harlie waking me up. She needed to roll over to vomit and she had a fever of 101. There is no rest for Harlie, Stephanie and me. It is 24/7 of worry and prayers.”

Stephanie also wrote this morning: “Harlie has an appointment today at 3p at Primary Children’s Hospital. We are worried they will admit her today. However, we are very worried. She is not looking very well. The weekend was very rough. She had a lot of blood in her G-tube when venting. She was in excruciating pain with her stomach all weekend. She had high fevers as well as vomiting. Although Harlie was in extreme pain, she was able to see her friends and family for Easter. It was hard on Harlie because it hurt to talk with her stomach pain and feeling so sick.”

Stephanie, Gabe and Harlie’s Easter dinner was spent with her grandmother, Marylou, as well as C’era, Dustin, Aleshia, Audrea, Adalaya and Bella. Other family members and friends were there earlier in the day.

This is Harlie’s niece, Adalaya. Harlie was able to celebrate her first Easter.

 

This picture below was also from this past weekend. Harlie is holding a piece of Stephanie’s birthday cake. She’s not able to eat but she wanted to hold the cake while her mom made her birthday wish and blew out the candle.

We can only imagine what Stephanie’s birthday wish might have been…
