Just want my husband home safe. Praying for the families devastated by the attacks in Paris last night.

As I wait for Justin to land on a flight from Paris this afternoon, my heart hurts for all of the families devastated by the attacks in Paris last night.  Listening to CNN: President Obama’s speech last night: “This is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share,” Obama said in a statement delivered in the White House Briefing Room.

Life can change in an instant. Justin was just eating dinner in Paris and attended a basketball game there.  I spoke to him once he was seated on the plane early this morning. He said there were a lot of passengers crying uncontrollably. I am thanking God this morning that Justin is safe and on his way home. Safe and healthy continues to be my prayers. Although, my heart is hurting for the families that will not see their family member safe.

What an emotional day yesterday. I had the honor to attend the National Ability Center (NAC) “Saluting Our Heroes” luncheon. It was a reminder of how important our service men and women are to us. After the luncheon, I took Ava to her horseback riding lesson at the NAC. As I sat down on a rock to watch the sunset, I texted my friend, Cristina, that I was finally sitting down and letting some of my emotions out after a powerful few hours at the luncheon.  I plan to share more about the luncheon soon. It was extremely emotional to have some of the  RUN families attending the event. There is a huge connection with the our rare families and their service as well as their family connections to the military.

I was taking a deep breath and thanking God for the blessings we have and how fortunate we are to be a part of the NAC. Cristina texted back that she has been watching the news about the attacks in Paris. I hadn’t been around a television and was not aware of the attacks. I immediately called Justin to see what was happening in Athens as I knew he was flying in a few hours through Paris. It was a long evening of watching the television, crying for the people killed and waiting to know if he was going to get home. Thankfully, the airport did not close. The children and I will be picking him up in a few hours. I cannot wait to hold him in my arms.

I will continue to pray for safe and healthy.

Much love,

gina
