Stephanie and Gabe gave us their approval to post his update:
“Just want to let you know that Harlie made it out of surgery!! FINALLY!”
Stephanie and Gabe: After three hours in the waiting room, THE LONGEST THREE HOURS OF OUR LIVES, we think everything went well. There were EIGHT ulcers!?! There were some in the stomach and there were some in the smaller intestines. They cauterized the four that were bleeding. And, we pray that the cauterization will hold. There were four that were “old” and must have been part of her pain in the previous weeks. Pain. Harlie has lived in so much pain for weeks…
She is in the ICU to make sure that her ulcers do not start bleeding again or if there are other “spots” in the lower GI.
This is a constant battle. A constant cycle. Pain. Ulcers. Stability. Pain management. Nutrition. Life.
The surgeon put in the central line. Through this…we pray that she will start to gain strength and her body will heal.
We pray.
She is resting now.
She needs rest as well as her family.
Please know that Harlie and her family know you are there for them. She is definitely not “out of the woods” as the doctors would say…
She is still fighting for her life.
Harlie knows that over 20,000 people prayed for her.
Harlie knows that her family and friends are there for her.
However, she is scared. We are all scared.
What brings us together as a community is that we all love Harlie.
We, as a community, are worried and praying for Harlie.
Harlie needs us and so does her family…Stephanie, Gabe and their beautiful girls…as well as the rest of the family.
Please pray.
