Stephanie Valdez: “In these moments, it’s easy to focus on all of the things that have gone wrong. It’s easy to focus on the loss and the heartbreak and the pain, but it’s also important to remember all of the things that have gone right.
It’s important to remember all of the positive experiences and friendships and growth and laughter you’ve gained — things you would have never taken part in, lessons you would have never learned, and people you would have never met had you not veered off the desired path.
I’ve almost lost Harlie so many times. Every single day is a gift with Harlie right now. Every single day should not be taken for granted. We do not know what tomorrow will bring with her medical issues. We are very fortunate to be home with her right now. However, this does not mean that she is better. We continue to pray for Harlie to beat JDM.”
Stephanie and the family are currently working hard to make Harlie’s room special.
Stephanie wanted to share pictures from Harlie’s last hospital stay.
Stephanie wanted to share a picture of Harlie four years ago today when she was in Park City getting ready to play in worlds (July 17, 2012)
Stephanie was able to take Harlie to the ballpark to watch one of her tournament teams. She was able to connect with her friends. Again, focus on the good moments….and pray for more of them.
And, the title of this blog sums up today for the Valdez family. When it rains, it pours. Stephanie received the call that Gabe’s sister, Brandy Valdez, is in the ICU and they are not sure she is going to make it.
Please treasure your moments with your family and please do not take your health for granted. Every single day is a gift.
Please say a prayer today for Brandy Valdez.
