Stephanie Valdez: “Update on Harlie. After deciding to try the new medicine Tacrolimus, they are struggling to get the dosage right. They want us to be in the hospital while they figure that out in case she gets a toxic dose. They started with 3 pills in morning and 3 pills at night. They checked her levels and they were at 17 which is too high. She needs to be in between 5-12 to be safe and not suffer seizures and cause liver and kidney problems. They dropped her dose to 2 pills and just found out that some how her levels have increased to 22 which is toxic.  This explains why she has been feeling sick and having headaches, hand tremors, and hands numb and hotness/ chills, vomiting. Once again, she has her doctors stumped as to why it increase even though they decreased the dose.

This also means that there is no going home as soon as we would like:-(
